A new version of the Parents’ Maths booklet has been produced, based on the renewed Primary Maths Framework. This booklet is designed to help parents and carers support their children’s progress in maths. It explains the ideas behind maths teaching at Queen Edith, as well as giving details of the different mental and written methods used by the children.
As well as the full booklet, there are new single page summaries of the key methods taught to all children in the Later Years at Queen Edith. There is one sheet for each of the four main operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Launched at the recent Maths Evening, we also have a Key Stage 1 parents' leaflet, and a Reception parents' leaflet, which you can download below. Both of these contain lots of ideas to help you support your child in maths.
We hope you will find this information helpful – please ask your child’s teacher or Mr Blower, the Maths subject leader, if you have any questions.
Paper copies of the Parents' Maths Booklet are also available from the school office for £1.00
